What is LocalChefs?

LocalChefs App makes it very easy to offer food and catering service. All that you need is a mobile phone (and of course, passion and skills for cooking).

The app,when first launched asks you if you want to use the Chef side of the app or the Foodie side. Chose the chef side. Don't worry, you can switch back and forth as you please any time.

Chef side of the app is for Home Chefs and the Foodie side of the app is for users to discover and connect with the home chefs.

What platforms are supported?

LocalChefs app is available for iPhone, iPad and Android phones and tablet devices.

How do I offer my service on LocalChefs?

Download and install the LocalChefs app. Choose the Chef side of the app by clicking on "I am a Chef" button. For more details about setting up the app, please check out "Getting Started" from "Chef" menu.

How do I get help?

Please use the Help menu at the top of this page to request support or report any issues.

What payment methods does LocalChefs accept?

LocalChefs App accepts credit cards from users ordering food from local chefs.

The credit card processing service is provided by Stripe. The credit card information is sent directly to Stripe and LocalChefs never receives or stores your credit card information.

How does LocalChefs pay the Home Chef?

Home Chefs use LocalChefs app which allows setting up a bank account or Paypal for direct deposit.

User pays for the service using a credit card on LocalChefs app.

LocalChefs pays the Home Chefs by direct deposit to their bank account on file via ACH transaction or by transfering money to their Paypal or Venmo account.

How is sales tax calculated?

Applicable state and local sales tax is charged at the order time. It is calculated based on the county of the service provider address.

What fees are charged?

Fees to Consumers:

None. LocalChefs charges no fees to the user for any activity.

Fees to Home Chefs:

Credit Card Processing Cost 3% + Service Fee 7%.

Home Chefs are charged a Relationship Fees of 7% of the order total (not including sales tax, of course) with the minimum charge being $1.50. This is the only fee charged to the chefs to support the cost of operations.

Our cost of credit card processing (3%) are passed on the the chefs. These are the lowest and most transparent fees in the industry.
